Club News - October 2006

1. Breast Cancer Awareness month begins in October. Did you know that working out helps to reduce the risk of breast cancer. If you had a mammogram in the last 12 months, you can enter our drawing for fabulous prizes. Drawing is October 27th.

2. Wedding gowns needed for a charity wedding gown sale to benefit the Making Memories Foundation. The gift of your wedding gown helps Making Memories fulfill wishes for terminal breast cancer patients. We will give you $10,000 Curves Cash for a wedding gown donation. 4. Survey: We need your help. Please take 1 minute to fill out our very short member survey and you will get $20 Curves Cash. We are only conducting the survey on Monday, September 25 and Tuesday, September 26 so please make sure you workout and complete the survey. Thank you.

6. Diane Magazine: The fall issue of our Curves magazine is expected to arrive this week. Magazine supplies are limited so be sure to visit us to get your free copy of this outstanding women's magazine. You don't want to miss out on the feature articles, tips and much more!

7. On Sale Now! The beautiful new Curves Fall clothing and accessories are on display in the clubs. Stop in to see the new fashion style. All of these items can now be ordered. We recommend that you submit your order as soon as possible because these products may sell out due to limited quantities.

9. Our Biggest Losers! We have a dedicated group of members who are participating in the Curves 6 Week Solution. So far so good! They are working hard and getting some excellent results. Check our white board in the club each week to see just how much weight the group has lost. Please see us if you want to learn more about our weight loss program.

10. Did you hear this one?

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where she is.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to go there.

I don't exercise. If I was supposed to touch my toes, they'd be further up my body.

Every time I get the urge to exercise, I lie down till the feeling passes.

Exercise (ex*er*siz) v. To walk up and down a mall, occasionally resting to make a purchase.

I have to sneak in my exercise program first thing in the morning before my brain wakes up and finds out what I'm doing.
